What’s the difference between a hot tub, whirlpool and Jacuzzi?
After a long day, relaxing in a hot tub, whirlpool or Jacuzzi is lovely. In fact, these are all different names for a hot spa bath. And yet there are differences between these types of spa bath. Learn more on the differences below.
Jacuzzi
Jacuzzi is a brand name. If you’re looking for a ‘Jacuzzi’, you’re actually looking for an electric hot tub with bubbles, massage jets and mood lighting, i.e. a luxury electric hot tub.
Whirlpool
Exactly as the name suggests. Powerful massage jets whirl the water around, creating a whirlpool. Our spa range encompasses electric hot tubs from the Nordic Hot Tubs brand.

Nordic Hot Tubs
Nordic Hot Tubs has been leading the world of high-quality therapeutic and affordable hot tubs for over 25 years now. Buying a spa from Nordic Hot Tubs means buying their passion for bona fide whirlpool therapy. A simple control panel allows you to make the massage jets harder or softer. What's more, all the jets are individually adjustable by rotating them. The massage jets are pump out water as standard, but can also contain air. This is set by means of separate control buttons located around the entire Spa. This combination of water jet and air jet currents will give Nordic hot tub users the ultimate relaxation massage!

Good for your health
Bathing in a Nordic Hot Tub/Spa is incredibly good for your health. The powerful water massage jets encourage optimal circulation. What's more, the jets enable you to really unwind. Most Nordic Hot Tubs feature foot massage jets (this applies to all Nordic Hot Tubs except the Impulse DP).
What is a hot tub?
Exactly what the name suggests. The term is often used for a hot outdoor pool that can be heated either electrically or with a wood stove. A lot of people think the hot tub is a Scandinavian invention. But nothing could be further from the truth, as the hot tub has its origins in Japan. Natural hot springs, also known as ‘onsen’, have been used since time immemorial in Japan due to the volcanic soil.
Over time, the Japanese developed round, oval or square wooden hot tubs to capture the hot spring experience. The water is heated by means of a wood stove in the hot tub. This is also known as a hot tub with an internal wood stove. In addition to hot tubs with internal stoves, plenty of hot tubs featuring external and integrated wood stoves are also available.
