Marbacka campsite experience
Marbacka campsite is located in the middle of the Natura 2000 area in Ermelo. You only have to venture off the campsite for a wonderful trip, hike or bike ride in nature. What's more, the campsite is only 2.5 kilometres away from the village, meaning that you can head to a supermarket or enjoy a delicious restaurant meal within a matter of minutes. Everything is within easy reach.
Guests enjoy the accommodation units
Daniëlle has chosen to take Marbacka campsite in a different direction, albeit preserving the peace and quiet of course. ‘We previously had 28 regular guests with mobile homes, and currently still have 16. We’ve chosen to add more accommodation units like the Camping Pod for rental, as we're noticing that they're more popular.’
Daniëlle believes that the Camping Pods are easier to rent out because they’re just that little bit different. A unique overnight stay: ‘90% of our guests love the combination of the accommodation and the tranquil setting. We try to offer a complete package: a snug, cosily furnished accommodation unit with all mod cons, but surrounded by nature’. But the Camping Pod isn't just a boon for the guests. ‘The layout is much better for us in terms of time management, as I can do more cleaning in one day, which means a higher turnaround time in terms of rental.’
Why choose TICRA Glamping?
TICRA put in the first 3 Camping Pods in 2020 and 2022, and a Camping Pod and a Finnish Kota are now being added. The decision to go with TICRA was based on such considerations as the price-quality ratio, which is very important for a novice entrepreneur, according to Daniëlle. The decision was bolstered by the possibility of visiting the showroom. ‘That really won me over, because you can experience it, stand in a room and see the possibilities. Which is far more preferable than ordering something based on seeing a photo. And so, once I had visited the showroom, I didn't approach any other companies because it's all about getting to see what you’re buying and getting a feeling’, says Daniëlle.

New Project, Same Recreation Supplier
For the installation of the two new accommodations, Daniëlle immediately approached TICRA again. “This is naturally due to the success of renting out the Camping Pods. If your guests enjoy them, why would you choose something else?” This time, Camping Marbacka also opted for a Finnish Kota. “Our initial plan was to place two new Camping Pods, but once in the showroom, we selected a Camping Pod and the smaller Kota. Mindert Rumpff, owner of TICRA Outdoor, visited our campsite and, based on his advice, we decided on a larger connected Kota. Additionally, we moved the entrance of the Camping Pod to the side. TICRA’s experience with space layout was highly appreciated, and we gladly accepted their recommendations.”
Of course, projects don’t always run perfectly: “Mistakes can happen, but I believe that with good communication and some improvisation, everything can be resolved. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have chosen TICRA to install accommodations number 4 and 5.”
What does the future hold?
The occupancy rate exceeded expectations. ‘Guests have already reserved for next season and are even booking the new accommodation units that are being installed today. Sometimes it's quite bizarre how quickly they get booked up and it makes the investment more than worth it. We can’t complain about that.’ The challenge for Marbacka campsite will be installing more accommodation units in the future. ‘Unfortunately, there's no land for sale, or else we'd have wanted to install more units. The popularity of the Camping Pods is great and we’re definitely seeing added value.’
