Why a footrest?

How do I maintain my wooden footrest?
Cedar wood is one of the toughest, most durable varieties of softwood in the world. It’s lightweight and has a natural protection against wood-decay fungi, moulds and insects. The wood may be kept outdoors without treatment, but will age over time if not treated. This won’t affect the wood’s properties or quality, though.
