The Finnish kota is suitable for various purposes and can have the layout of your choice. It can serve as an outdoor kitchen in which to light the barbecue, even in weather that’s not as favourable. It’s also possible to use a traditional fireplace in the garden house, enabling you to enjoy a crackling fire during the colder months. Or use the Finnish kota as a sauna, office or treatment room. These unique garden houses even lend themselves to being used as holiday accommodation units. Keen to have a Finnish Kota in your garden but have a specific wish, such as a different roof colour, extra seating, a bespoke extension for a sauna or bedroom? Examples of modifications to the Finnish Kota include:
- Raising side walls and door
- Adding an extension or linking several Finnish Kotas together
- Extra or fewer windows in the barbecue kota and which windows can or can’ be opened
- More or fewer benches or bunks
- Other type of barbecue, such as the Polar Metalli Grill
- Bespoke sauna, with changing room
- Other colours of roof covering (black, red, grey or green)
- Another door, e.g. a full glass sauna door
- Glass roof panel for extra daylight

Choose your barbecue
Standard barbecue
Our Finnish Kotas come with a barbecue as standard, including:
- Stainless steel grill grate (height-adjustable)
- Two or three stainless steel pan holders
Ash pan - Seven or eight detachable tables (depending on kota type)
- Stand for the barbecue
- Height-adjustable flue
- Optional: upright (splash) guard around the barbecue
Polar Metalli Grill
In addition to this solid barbecue, the kota can also come with the luxurious Polar Grill by Polar Metalli (at an additional cost). We have both barbecues set up as show models.
Installing the Kota
We’ll be happy to advise even if the location you have in mind for your kota isn’t readily accessible or if the Finnish Kota will need to be installed abroad! We’ve now successfully delivered and installed several Kotas both in the Netherlands and abroad.
