A ‘trekkershut’ is a sustainable accommodation unit that satisfies certain conditions and the guidelines set by Trekkershutten B.V. They have set out certain conditions in terms of quality for accommodation units to become part of the network.
Examples of these quality requirements include: 1) wood thickness at least 40 mm; 2) floor area at least 6 m2 and at most 36 m2; 3) at least one window or door with glass; and 4) insulation, if the accommodation is rented out all year round.
