Ice baths

An ice bath is a cold water therapy bath, in which you immerse your body in cold water. The extreme cold gives your immune system and your mental health a boost. The body’s shock response releases adrenaline, causing increased heart rate and breathing.

Using special breathing techniques, you can learn to relax your body in the cold water, allowing you to experience the cold and feel more resilient than ever after the cold water bath. It’s like resetting your mental and physical state. The body produces more white blood cells because of the cold, which boosts your immune system and enables you to inhibit inflammation more effectively.

FAQ on Ice baths

An ice bath is a cold water therapy bath, in which you immerse your body in cold water. The extreme cold gives your immune system and your mental health a boost. With TICRA Outdoor electric ice baths, you’ll always be able to take a cold bath, because they can be set to a minimum temperature of 3 degrees Celsius. No ice needed!

Chill Tub is a brand of high-quality ice baths. Chill Tub offers low-cost 'entry-level' baths that still need cold water/ice, as well as professional electric ice baths that can be set to a constant minimum temperature of 3 degrees Celsius. The advantage of these electric ice baths is that they can also be used as a hot tub, because the temperature is adjustable to a constant temperature of up to 40º Celsius. It’s multifunctional!

Taking an ice bath isn’t for everyone. Sometimes an ice bath can be dangerous for you. If you have heart problems, an ice bath is strongly discouraged, as it can cause heart failure. Anyone who has a medical condition (such as diabetes, high or low blood pressure, or other health problems) should consult a doctor first.
When you take an ice bath for the first time, you should build up very slowly and carefully. Focus on breathing exercises and don't get into the ice bath too quickly all in one plunge. Don't stay in an ice bath for a long time if you're not used to it. And make sure you're not alone, so someone can help you get out of the water in case something goes wrong.
